Harry Sinden

The 1997-98 season marks Harry Sinden's ninth season as the Bruins' President and his 26th season as the team's General manager. He is the driving force behind every aspect of the organization, guiding both the business and off-ice affairs as President and the club's on-ice performance as General manager.

Sinden has been an integral part of the Bruins for over 30 years, starting in the organization in the early 60's as a player coach at the minor league level and progressing to his current positions. He has part of a Bruins Stanley Cup Championship, six conference titles, and 10 Division championships, and his Boston teams have combined for 27 winning seasons. With a 7-4 Boston win at St. Louis on October 17, 1995, he became the first general manager in the history of the NHL record 1,000 victories, and his all-time record as a GM is 1064-657-255 for a .603 winning percentage.

One of the leagues most respected general managers Sinden is a key member of many league committees which bring policy and rule recommendations to the NHL's Board of Governors. The esteem in which he is held in the Hockey Hall of Fame was evidenced by his induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame, as he became the 23rd Bruin enshrined and only the fourth to enter in the builder's category. In 1997, he was selected as one of the 30 inaugural inductees into the International Ice Hockey Hall of Fame. He was elected to the Board of Directors for the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1994.
